Handy and comprehensive August 29, 2010 DayReader 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've read many of the authors books and always enjoyed his writing style. This one's as complete a guide to Windows 7 as I've found, even better than the Missing Manual and Inside Out books. One of the rare computer books I've actually read in its entirety too. The first few chapters are exceptional for customization and optimization. Definitely worthwhile.
Excellent resource May 24, 2010 Y. Slayton (Washington) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Out of all the Windows 7 books I looked at, this was the most clearly written and I'm glad I bought it. As compared to others, it was so much better. To say this book has been such a huge help in my studies would be an understatement. Everything I've wanted to learn about was covered in excellent detail and I've learned so much for this book it has more than paid for itself.
A lot of pages for so little information March 6, 2010 Sidney A. Bordelon Jr. (Morgan Hill, CA USA) 13 out of 17 found this review helpful
I have been frustrated each time I go to this book for information. I NEVER find the information. It's beyond me how he can write so many words and say so little. Probably my biggest disappointment is the Index. I have NEVER gone to the index and found what I was looking for. I'm a long time user of Microsoft Windows products, so I'm already familiar with most of "how it works" topics, so it amazes me how this author can write much and leave me hanging wanting for more details. I cannot recommend this book.
Excellent detail and comprehensive February 23, 2010 J. Lenk (Chester County, PA) 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
The best training manual for Windows 7 available. Detailed instructions and numerous tips. Not a dummies style book but more of an instructors manual. Very thick. I wish it would come in smaller sections so I could read it in bed.

This book in for the computer professional. It has many topics and covers each in very professional, understandable terms. In fact the book tells the reader this at the very beginning. I recommend this book for your computer library if you have experience with Microsoft operating systems and are moving to the Windows 7 environment. THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR THE BEGINNER OF COMPUTER OPERATING SYSTEMS.
