2 out of 5 stars Flaking out after a short period of time   September 3, 2010
Stewart Benedict (New Tazewell, TN United States)
I started out happy with the device. Added it to network an existing XBOX (running MythTV) and a new Sony BluRay to the same port in the living room. Everything worked great for a few months, and now I'm having trouble with both the XBOX talking to the server in the basement, and the BluRay watching Netflix. Take the switch out and connect one or the other and the problems seem to go away. Wouldn't think the cables suddenly went bad.

5 out of 5 stars Great affordable, small switch   September 3, 2010
I had one network connection in our master bedroom for the DVR. Adding a Wii to our set up, and my wanting to add it to our network required me to get a switch. br / br /I didn not need a huge switch, with all of the bells and whistles. Just a simple switch that was unobtrusive and that would work. br / br /This switch fit the need. br / br /Very easy to install, and secured a good connection immediatly. Was able to add the Wii to it with just the plug of a wire. br / br /It has been very stable, and does not run that hot. br / br /If you are looking for a good priced way to add more network connections in your home, this would work for you.

5 out of 5 stars LIFE SAVER   August 31, 2010

I love the fact that the box is so small and it doesn't take up a lot of room. I was originally going to purchase a 3 way female splitter but with that the 2nd and 3rd bedroom would not have access to the net at the same time. With this I'm sharing a connection with 4 computers. The main connection is downstairs and i have 3 split offs upstairs. the main connection upstairs is running threw one bedroom and that connection runs off into the 2nd bedroom. With this box i have been able to connect the 2nd and 3rd bedroom the connection in the 2nd room has not lost speed and the 3rd bedroom (which is my room) is running great. The Prime shipping that offered for free for college students really helped me out of a bind. I have a few online classes an a wireless connection extender was more pricey then the box and i found a cheap 50ft Ethernet cord on amazon as well. needless to say the prime shipping they offered help make sure i had internet connection so i was able to attend classes on time and not fall behind FREE PRIME SHIPPING LIFESAVER!!!!!!!! br / br /P.S Ill update if anything changes but as of now everything is a go :) br / br /P.P.S I forgot to mention the 5 year warranty the box comes with another plus

5 out of 5 stars Just works   August 29, 2010

I bought two of these to use with my UVERSE receivers. My UVERSE is connected with COAX so the Ethernet port on the receiver is unused. br /I plugged the Trendnet switch in to the UVERSE receiver's Ethernet jack and now I have four new Ethernet ports to use for my Blu-Ray, WII, Popcorn hour etc. Worked immediately and has been working for six months without issue. I also have one room where I have a Ethernet UVERSE hookup (vs a COAX) and there I use this switch to connect both the UVERSE receiver and a PC to the Ethernet jack. Also works like a charm. br /So this is a very basic unit and all plastic but for the price it is perfect. I also use a Linksys switch (works great) and a netgear switch (does NOT work). br /But I think as far as value for money goes the Trendnet is the winner. Will be buying more of these as I need more switches.
