 Storage full -give us your money or your PC August 1, 2010

I have been a longtime Norton fan. We purchased 360 v3 because it included 2GB of online back-up and installed on two PC's we used the online back-up and stored critical documents. When my wife's PC died suddenly and we had restore her files. Everything is somewhat difficult to navigate but doable. Her files were safe.

br /Well, that all sounds great, except that the amount of Data Norton say's it has stored on my included 2GB keeps growing, soon I had only 11MB left, and getting pop-ups "buy more storage NOW!" "You are at risk!"

br /In theory you can delete files stored, in truth you can not. You can only remove them from your list of stored files. Contact the help desk and they want to remote enter your PC; "I won't access any personal information on your computer" they say. It takes 10 seconds of searching (Norton online "storage full") to find this is a known issue and the data needs to be removed from the server at their end, but it takes an hour to convince them to do it, and they are claiming it will take 5-7 days to do it.

br /If you are looking to back-up files there are other ways that give you more control and more options. I am shopping for the best one now.

While I am not a geek, I have used computers for 27 years in business. I was unable to install and activate this product. The user guide is useless. Waste of time and money.
WORST SOFTWARE, LET ALONE SECURITY SUITE, EVER! July 3, 2010

Read the reviews, I did. Then I made a stupid decision and bought the program anyway. You will see a lot of reviews that claim Norton 360 freezes your computer and/or actively drains your computer to the point you can't use it. Those claims are TRUE! That is exactly what it did to my computer. I couldn't even browse the internet after I installed this program and in my processes window, guess what is taking up 40-70% of my processor - "NORTON". Then, to make matters worse, after I uninstalled the program and put the disk in the microwave, there is still Norton 360 adware on my computer! Yes! This "legitimate", multimillion (maybe even billion) dollar company has decided it necessary to insert advertisement software into their program! Now every time I use my computer a big Norton 360 window pops up and starts telling me how I'm not protect, updates needed, yadda yadda, BS advertisement. And get this, there's NO EXIT BUTTON! You'd think this was some half-ass free trial security program off the internet. Let me sum up: DO NOT BUY THIS PROGRAM, OR ANY NORTON PROGRAM! Buyer beware.

At this price you're not going to find a better all in one solution to computer security. Norton has had its off years, but I think it's doing much better with this release. If you actually use it on three computers, you are getting a bargain. No anti-virus solution is 100% effective, but this will protect you against many of the risks associated with using a computer on the internet.

Love Norton as long as I can continue to get it for $30 for 3 PCs. This is for home use, so it well worth the investment of $10/computer. It just makes a PC work better. Window + Norton is as close you are going to get working Mac.
